Nebraska

Today is Friday the 13th.
We are on the road traveling through Nebraska to Colorado.  We are spending the night in Kearney.   We started our trip this morning at 10:00 AM and arrived at our motel at 4:00 PM.  Traveling I-80 is rather monotonous, but with the speed limit 75 MPH at lot of the way, the trip was fast.  Our first leg of the trip was about 350 miles.

As we traveled through the state, we are reminded of the movie, Nebraska, with Bruce Dern.  Nebraska, the movie, is a father and son road trip from Montana to Nebraska.  It is a statement about many things, including the bleakness of traveling the state.  Other things included are small town living, aging, and the importance of family and dependence on them (especially as you grow older). The main character thought he won a grand prize in a "Publishing-Clearing-House-like" contest. And, he traveled through Nebraska to collect his "winnings."

We ate at a restaurant close to where we were staying. It was called El Maguey. Some of the best Mexican cuisine we have tasted!

The food was authentic and seasoned well.  It was highly recommended.

We had a great day traveling, tomorrow we will be in Breckenridge. Yeah!
