English Muffin Bread Pizza-Cooking with Duncan & Aiden

Last week our grandsons came for a visit.  Of course, we had to cook.  We gathered around the table and came up with two very good individual pizzas.  Grandpa and Grandma and Duncan and Aiden shared a memorable Friday night together that we will not soon forget.

We went to the park to play.

Then, we went for a bike ride.

And finally, we went to Madagascar 3:
Europe's Most Wanted,
in 3-D.

The first pizza is a traditional pepperoni pizza.

Ingredients:
  • English Muffin Bread
  • Pepperoni
  • Green bell pepper
  • Red onion
  • Green onions
  • Button mushrooms
  • Roma tomatoes
  • Pizza sauce
  • Mozzarella cheese (shredded)

Assemble the ingredients.

Ready to get started!

Grandpa helps Aiden to open the mozzarella cheese.

Slice the mushrooms.

Seed and dice the pepper.  This one is a jalapeno.
We like a little heat!

Duncan cuts the green onion  into slices.

Aiden gets the pepperoni ready.

Continue slicing the red onion.

Dice the green bell pepper.

Slice the Roma tomatoes.

Put the pizza sauce onto the English Muffin bread.

Carefully spread the sauce onto the bread.

Grandpa likes to cook.

Grandma is having fun.

Sprinkle the cheese onto the sauce.

Make sure to do a taste test.

Sprinkle the cheese just where you want it.

Keep adding the toppings.

Customize your pizza to your individual taste.

It takes a lot of concentration.

I think I am finished.

Finishing up before putting them onto the baking pan.

Have an adult put the pizza into the oven.
Bake 425 degrees for 12-15 minutes
or until browned on the edges.

Ready for baking.

Out of the oven and ready to eat.

Now for the taste test.

Getting ready to sample.

Enjoy!

The second pizza is a B.L.T. Pizza.
Ingredients:
  • English muffin bread
  • Pizza sauce
  • Roma tomatoes
  • Bacon
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Lettuce
  • Mayonnaise
Have an adult cook the bacon on the stove top.

Bacon will be brown and crispy.

Aiden is crumbling the bacon.

Taste to make sure it will be okay to use on the pizza.

Slice the Roma tomatoes.

Spoon pizza sauce on the English muffin bread.

Add the mozzarella cheese, then the cooked bacon,
and the fresh Roma tomato slices,
and more cheese on top.

The pizza is ready to put on baking stone.

Grandpa.

Duncan and Grandma.

Aiden and Grandma.

Are you ready for a "throw down"?

Cook the pizzas at 425 degrees
for 10 to 15 minutes.
These were baked on a baking stone.

Add fresh chopped lettuce to the baked pizza.

Squirt a little mayo on top.

Enjoy!

I add a little spicy brown mustard on my
B.L.T. pizza.

Great memories.

Cooking is cool!

Grandpa baked some chocolate chip cookies.

They are the best,
and so is grandpa.

My favorite cooks.
