DIRT DESSERT My husband and I traveled to see our daughter and her family to celebrate an UNBIRTHDAY PARTY. We had missed Dane's 9th birthday and Evie's birthday in September. Dane hasn't cooked with grandma yet, so what a great opportunity to make a belated birthday dessert. My two grandsons, Dane & Duncan, will be making Dirt Dessert. It is easy to make, and what says cooking with boys more than making dirt? Let's Begin!
Ingredients:
(from Cooks.com)
Gather the ingredients.
Gather the boys.
Get your tools ready to crush the Oreo cookies.
Put 1 1/4 lbs. Oreo cookies into a plastic bag.
Crush them with a hammer or power tool (or rolling pin).
Set them aside while you prepare the filling mixture.
Pour the vanilla instant pudding mix into a mixing bowl.
Continue to add the dry pudding mix until all 3 packages are added.
Add 12 oz. cream cheese.
(Cut 1-8 oz. package in half to add 4 oz. of the cheese).
Then, add the 8 oz. package of cream cheese to the bowl.
Get the Cool Whip from the refrigerator.
Add 6 oz. of the Cool Whip to the bowl.
Measure 4 1/2 cups milk.
Add to the mixing bowl.
Until all 4 1/2 cups are added.
Whip together until thoroughly mixed.
Mixture will be thick and creamy.
Start to layer the crushed cookies and the pudding mixture.
The bottom layer is the crushed cookies.
The second layer is pudding.
Another layer of cookies.
Another layer of pudding.
Another cookie layer.
The last pudding layer.
Top with crushed cookies.
Open the package of gummy worms.
Add worms to the top of the "dirt" layer.
If you are making this in the summer, you can use a plastic beach bucket and scoop.
Finished!
Enjoy!
What a great time!
Little brother, Graham, & Mom, Evie.
I made this dirt dessert for the first time when Evie was in kindergarten for her birthday treat for the class.
It has been a hit ever since, and now passed on to her boys.
UNBIRTHDAY PARTY FUN!
Thank you boys for a great day!

Younger days!
Fun times!
