Making Our Way To Sedona- Chicken Fajitas

For my birthday, Doug is taking me to Sedona, Arizona.  The views from the air were spectacular.  The diversity of the land was breathtaking.  We traveled from the Land of 10,000 Lakes to the deserts and mountains of Arizona. From the air Doug started counting...
9,997 , 9,998 , 9,999 , 10,000.
He said he counted all of the 10,000 lakes of Minnesota.

Morning view landing at the Phoenix Airport at 9:00AM.

A view inside the airport on our way to the baggage claim.

I took many photos from the car on our way to Sedona, but they don't turn out as well as stopping the car and getting out and taking them.  One of the problems with that is there are very few places to exit the highway to take the photos.  And, the other is the fact we would never get there as I tend to take a LOT of photos!  With that being said, I wanted to post this picture because we were continually amazed at the number of cacti dotting the landscape.

Our first taste of Southwest Mexican cuisine.  We ended up at a fast food chain on the way to Sedona.
Once you travel north from Phoenix, the towns are sparse and the gas and restaurants are minimal.
You don't want to have car trouble or an over-heated engine.

Fajitas fresh from the grill.

A view of Bell Rock.
We are making our way to Bell Rock Inn where we are spending the week.
Bell Rock was named by pioneer Abraham James.
The red rock formation towers to an elevation of 4,919 feet!

Don't feed the bears, or encounter one!

Checking into our abode for the week.

More views of our inn.
