Ice Cream Sandwich Dessert- Cooking with Graham

Cool, refreshing Ice Cream Cake

As you have probably guessed by now, Graham just turned 5.
He made a kid-friendly dessert to "wow" his family for just one more birthday treat.
There is no right or wrong way to make this.  Look through your cupboards for your favorite cookies or candies.  Then, build delicious layers of ice cream sandwiches, whipped topping, caramel syrup,
chocolate shell, candy, and cookies if you like, and the list goes on-n-n-n-n-n-n-n.
It is decadent, and looks great when it is served on a plate.

"I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream"...
I will post the history of this saying a little later.
You just might be surprised where it originated.

For ingredients, we used frozen ice cream sandwiches (Vanilla and Neapolitan flavored),
frozen whipped topping, caramel ice cream topping, chocolate shell topping, and  Peanut M&M's Candy.

Unwrap the ice cream sandwiches.

Layer the ice cream in the bottom of a dish.

Spoon the whipped topping over the first layer of ice cream sandwiches.

Add a squirt of caramel topping and chocolate shell topping.

Add another layer of ice cream sandwiches
and spread more whipped topping.

More ice cream sandwiches.

More whipped topping.

Keep adding the ingredients in layers, more caramel topping.

(Taste to make sure the flavors are okay.)

Finish with chocolate shell topping.

Place in freezer to set up the ice cream.  It melts quickly.

Once the dessert has hardened, add the candy of your choice or crumbled cookies.

Ready to share with the family.

This dessert looks beautiful when sliced and individually plated.

"I Scream You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream" is a song written by Howard Johnson, Billy Moll, and Robert A. K. King and was a great hit in 1925. (barney.wikia.com)

Here is the song on  YouTube:
I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream, 1925

Delicious!
